<p>Microcapsules that are porous have increased surface area. Therefore, increased loading of an associated physiologically or diagnostically-active component is possible, wherein at least a proportion of said component is present within the microcapsules and/or linked to the pores. Loading can be a factor of at least 2 greater than for corresponding non-porous microcapsules.</p> |
