PURPOSE:To form a dot image of high contrast by incorporating a tetrazolium compound into a photosensitive silver halide material. CONSTITUTION:A tetrazolium compound represented by the formula (where each of Z1, Z2 and Z3 is an aromatic hydrocarbon ring; each of R1, R2 and R3 is H, alkyl, allyl or aryl; when each of Z1, Z2 and Z3 is a single ring or a condensed ring consisting of two rings, the total number of carbon atoms in R1, R2 and R2 is >=3; each of l, m and p is >=1; and X is an anion) is incorporated into a photosensitive silver halide material having at least one hydrophilic colloidal layer contg. a silver halide emulsion formed on a support by coating. The silver halide emulsion is directly coated on the support, or it is coated after forming a hydrophilic colloidal layer contg. no silver halide emulsion. A hydrophilic colloidal layer as a protective layer may be further formed on the silver halide emulsion layer by coating. |
