PURPOSE:To attain the high-speed transfer (damp) of the memory contents by resetting a data processing system in a preserved state of the contents of a main memory, starting the initial program loading procedure to read a channel program to the main memory from an external memory medium and transferring the contents of the main memory to the external memory medium by means of said channel program. CONSTITUTION:When a system initialization button 12 on an operation panel 11 is pushed, both a central processor 13 and a channel controller 14 are reset. Then the microdiagnosis is supplied to the processor 13, the controller 14, a main memory 15, etc. by means of a diagnosis processor 16. When said microdiagnosis is over successfully, the firmware of the processor 13 produces a channel program (head part) on the memory 15 (the position close to the maximum address MSUL of the main memory) to perform the initial program loading. |
