The invention describes a procedure for aromatizing dry plant material (e.g. raw tea or tobacco) by microencapsulated aromas which consists of pre-drying the plant material to reach the moist content of 4 mass%, mixing for 15-30 minutes with water dispersion or thick broth of microcapsules with semi-permeable or non-permeable membrane, e.g. gelatin, gum arabic of carboxy methyl cellulose. The capsules should contain at least one aroma, selected according to the dry plant material, while the dispersion or broth should contain from 20 to 30 mass% of solid matter, if necessary also 1 to 2 mass% of a fixation agent selected among natural macromolecular substances, e.g. monosaccharide, disaccharides, carboxymethyl cellulose, polyvinyl chloride, all calculated with relation to the mass of the basic material. This is then dried with artificial air circulation at the temperature of the environment to reach max. moisture content 20 mass%, adding up to 80 mass% of the basic non-aromatized material if necessary.
|
