The height adjuster is mounted on a fixed panel (1) and consists of an arm (21), which is designed to oscillate around an axis (22), which is fixed to the fixed panel. The arm carries a crank pin (23), which extends perpendicularly to the arm, and which converts the angular motion of the arm into vertical motion of the arm rest. The crank pin is connected to the support structure (2) of the arm rest to drive it up or down, as required. The power to drive the arm rest is produced by means of the circular spring (24). The oscillating arm is locked in the selected position by means of the locking mechanism (30), which is activated and released by means of the handle (40).
