PURPOSE:To detect a misfiring state at an early stage, by providing an exhaust purifying means, a purification temperature detecting means, an exhaust temperature detecting means before purification, and an operating means, which judges the misfiring state of an internal combustion engine when the purifying temperature is higher than the exhaust temperature. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust temperature sensor 6 is provided for an exhaust manifold 4 in an internal combustion engine 1 as an exhaust temperature detecting means. A catalyst converter 7 is provided at the downstream of the sensor 6. A catalyst 7a is provided in the converter 7 as an exhaust purifying means. The catalyst temperature of a catalyst temperature 8, which detects the temperature of the catalyst 7a is inputted to an electronic control circuit 27. When the catalyst temperature is higher than the exhaust temperature, misfire is judged by a central processing unit, and abnormal warning is outputted to a warning outputting circuit 29. |
