The invention concerns a mechanical device for power transmission and an engine comprising such a device. The invention mainly concerns a mechanical device for power transmission comprising parts revolving (23, 29, 31, 1 33) about fixed axes driving (25) and/or driven by a belt, characterised in that at least one of said parts revolving about fixed axes comprises a running tread (9) on the belt or a radially external sheathing in a vibration-absorbing material. The invention is in particular applicable to the engineering industry and mainly to the motor vehicle industry.
