The invention concerns a method for preparing a hybrid sol. The method is characterised in that during a first step an inorganic prepolymer A is prepared by reacting an alkoxysilane with a hybrid alkoxide in the presence of water at 15-80 DEG C for 15 minutes - 24 hours; during a second step, the prepolymer A is reacted with a R<6>-C(CH3) = CH2 compound in which R<6> comprises an alkoxyacyl or carboxyl function, in the presence of a radical polyaddition catalyst; during a third step, an alcohol is added and the mixture is left to react for 15 minutes to 4 hours, at 45-80 DEG C; during a fourth step, a R<6>-C(CH3) = CH2 compound and a radical polyaddition catalyst are added and the mixture is left to react in a warming cupboard for 15 - 240 minutes, at 45-140 DEG C. The invention is useful for the inactivation of a material treated with asbestos.
