<p>Fuels and lubricants are purified by contacting and mixing each with water, heating the mixtures, and then separating the lubricants and fuels from the water. The resulting lubricants and fuels have reduced amounts of contaminants as compared to untreated fuels and lubricants. When burned in engines, the treated products produce exhaust gases that contain lower amounts of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, ozone, sulfur oxides, and lead particles as compared to untreated fuels and lubricants.</p> |
