Data exchange method specially for local optical network

The method involves exchanging information between communication connections (KA), at which communication instruments (KE1..4, KN-ATM) are connected. The communication connections are implemented in connection arrangements (MAU1..4) of optical ring networks (ORN). Different transmission frequencies are associated with the communication connections, communication instruments, and connection arrangements, for a transmission of information (z, sz) over an optical waveguide. The information is transferred with the transmission frequency (f1..4) of the respective target communication connection, target communication instrument, and target connection arrangements, for an aimed exchange of the information.
