The pneumatic control device has a pneumatic control unit provided with a pressure switch, for monitoring the pre-pressure in the respiration line and a parallel pressure regulator. The pressure switch is coupled to a warning logic together with a pressure sensor with a pair of sensor elements for detecting the actual respiration pressure and the inspiration pressure. The warning logic controls at least one optical signal source and/or an acoustic signal source. The pressure sensor can be provided by a double membrane valve with 2 parallel membranes (21,22), displaced within respective chambers (28,29) and acted on by respective springs (23,24).
