The output parameter calculation system uses a model of the multi-stage deformation process, allowing the output parameter to be calculated in dependence on the deformation process characteristics.The information processing for calculation of the output parameter is effected via neural networks. The parameter calculation system may be used for calculating the end thickness profile (Pi) of a rolled band fed through a rolling mill (8) with a number of stages, each associated with a thickness profile calculation system (9,10,11,12) using neural network based information processing.
