A part having a high adhesion of a substrate to a film of coating, which has a smooth surface, is provided. A coated part comprising a substrate and a film with which the surface of the substrate is coated. The surface of the substrate coated with the film is characterized in that the surface of the substrate includes an uneven surface having projections of 10-100 nm in average height and not more than 300 nm in average width. The uneven surface can be formed by an ion impact process. Since the projections on the surface are very minute, the surface coated with the film and formed on the uneven surface becomes smooth.
