Lightning protection device for wind-powered energy converter

The lightning protection device uses a series of electric battery cells (3a,..3c) or insulated fluid tanks as an energy storage device connected between the top end of the lightning conductor (1) and the earth point (4). The charging of each battery element is limited by a respective spark path (2a,...2c), or in the case of the liquid tanks by a respective switch, so that each stores part of the electrical energy of the electrostatic field resulting from the lightning strike.
