PURPOSE:To prevent the deformation of work by providing a tension wire which is set to the movable part of a welding gun and detecting the melt sticking of electrode tips in accordance with the movement of the tension wire. CONSTITUTION:The tension wire 15 which extends horizontally is provided near the welding gun 12. One end thereof is connected to a supporting bracket 16 extending from the crown of a welding machine and the other end is connected to the other supporting bracket 17. An engaging projection 22 which projects to the wire 15 side is then disposed to the movable part of the gun 12, e.g., a tip holder 21 of the electrode tip 14. The engaging state of the projection 22 and the wire 15 is maintained when even a piece of the electrode tips returning to the non-operating position upon ending of welding melt sticks to the work 30. The melt sticking signal is thereby transmitted from a limit switch 19 and the supporting of the work 30 only by the tip 14 is prevented. The deformation of the work 30 is prevented by such method. |
