Method for defects place determination into the stator slots insulation of the rotative electric high power machines

The invention relates to the electrical engineering and is destined for nondestructive testing of the electric machines insulation technical state. The method consists in applying the alternating test voltage to the slot insulation of the machine at rest, measuring the partial discharges intensity into the stator slots with the electromagnetic probe and detection of the defect place according to the partial discharges intensity. At the applied test voltage one measures the distribution of the partial discharges intensity according to the amplitude along the full slot's length for at least three different voltage levels, for selection of these discharges according to the amplitude value, on the basis of the obtained data one can draw charts of the partial discharges intensity distribution along the full slot's length and the defect place is determined according to the minimum position of the majority bending curves of the partial discharges intensity distribution. The technical result consists in the mutual compensation of the electromagnetic field components provoked by the current waves in the stator defects region which are spreading in opposite directions.
