<p>The chuck consists of a body (4) with an axially-sliding traction rod (6), at least one radially-sliding jaw carrier (3), and a transmission system which converts the axial movement of the rod into a radial movement of the carrier. Each jaw carrier is equipped with a guide (10) which moves along a groove (14) inside the mandrel and is pivotable axially relative to the jaw carrier.
