The sections are separable one after another from a material strip and feedable to a forming station (16), in which the collars during a static phase are shaped by forming tools (29), forming rounded or multi-cornered edges between a collar front wall and collar side lobes. The sections are transportable to the area of the forming station by a conveyor (38) passing through the station, partic. an endless conveyor, i.e. a belt conveyor (23), on the surface (25) of which the sections locate, and are positioned in the area of the forming tools. The conveyor is operable in such a way that an adequate static phase is provided for the forming of the sections in the area of the forming tools. |
