Method for payment of telephonic communications using an automatic dialer

The method involves debiting an account managed by a central server which is accessible from all types of telephone terminal (2). After an initial payment, a telephone call number for the central server (NAS) is stored in each telephone. Also stored within the telephone are an identification number for the user (NIU) and the telephone numbers of other parties whom the user wishes to call. When the user wishes to make a telephone call, the server call number (NAS) and the user identification number (NIU) are available in memory for transmission by the automatic dialler of the handset to authorise payment for the telephone service. The subscriber number to which a call is to be placed may then also be automatically dialled from memory.
