Road safety speed awareness device

A lighting arrangement which runs the full circumference of the outer rim of a steering wheel lights up and changes colour and/or flashes when certain pre-arranged speeds are attained. The lighting is mounted in a groove in the outer rim of the steering wheel. A sensor arrangement is fitted in the speedometer, detecting the position of the speedometer needle, switching the light on at a first predetermined speed and causing it to change colour and/or flash as higher speeds are attained.
