PURPOSE:To increase the average amount of spoun slivers, by dividing the spinning speed of a drawing machine into many stages in linking the drawing machine to a carding machine and correcting the sliver thickness unevenness in each stage. CONSTITUTION:A sliver forming apparatus having one drawing machine (B) linked to plural carding machines (A). In the apparatus, a sliver storage device 7 is provided at the inlet of each carding machine (A) and the sliver spinning speed of the carding machines (A) is controlled depending on the amount of the stored slivers in the device 7. On the other hand, an inverter device 28 for controlling the rotational speed of a motor (M) of the drawing machine (B) is provided and a thickness unevenness correction device 20 for changing the speed of a feed roll 16 of the drawing machine (B) on signals from a sliver thickness unevenness detector 21 is installed. When the rotational speed of the feed roll 16 is increased or reduced from the normal speed by a specific value, the inverter device 28 is controlled to decrease or increase the rotational speed of the feed roll 16 to the normal speed. |
