PURPOSE:To improve the dispersibility of a toner in a liquid developer and to improve a shelf stability when a developer is preserved for a long period of time by dispersing a resin contg. a specific polymerizable monomer and chloromethyl styrene as copolymerizing components into a specific carrier liquid. CONSTITUTION:The resin contg. at least one kind of the polymerizable monomer expressed by the formula (1) and the chloromethyl styrene as the copolymerizing components is dispersed into the carrier liquid having >=10<9>OMEGA-cm electric resistance and <=3 dielectric constant. The amt. of the polymerizable monomer to be introduced into the polymer is preferably >=1mol% and <=99mol%. The amt. of the chloromethyl styrene to be introduced into the resin varies with the kind of the monomer to be used and the amt. thereof to be introduced is adequately 1-10mol% with regards to the polymerizable monomer. The concn. of the toner in the developer is not particularly limited and is usually 0.001-100g by 1l solvent. The developer contg. the toner having the distinct positive chargeability is obtd. by adding the charge controlling agent having a metallic salt to the developer. |
