PURPOSE:To obtain an IO which is connected to a system having different interfaces by producing an interruption after the difference of interfaces is absorbed when the IO is started from a CPU and when an interruption processing is carried out to the CPU from the IO. CONSTITUTION:When an IO is started from a CPU 11, the CPU 11 first produces an IO command and sets an address pointer of the command to an input/output interface table 13 of a main memory MEM 1. When the CPU 11 starts the IO, a circuit 142 applies an L2 interruption to a microprocessor 141 and starts an emulation routine. This routine copies the address pointer to an input/output interface table 145 set within an IO 14 from the table 13 via a circuit 147 and corrects the difference of formats is produced between both tables to copy the address pointer. Then a circuit 143 starts an L1 interruption and extracts an address pointer out of the table 145 to process the IO command.
