PURPOSE: To provide an electronic stringed instrument which can detect pitch bend operation and plucked string operation distinctively as to an electronic stringed instrument which makes pitch bend playing possible. CONSTITUTION: This electronic stringed instrument has strings 1 consisting of pressed parts and plucked parts, plural frets F0-Fn at least one of which the strings 1 can touch when a player presses the pressed parts of the strings 1, an ultrasonic sensor 5 which sends an ultrasonic wave to the strings 1 and receives the echo generated by the reflection of the ultrasonic wave propagated in the strings 1 by the fret touching the strings 1, a string vibration detecting means 4 which detects the vibtation width of the string vibration caused when the player performs plucking operation, and string displacement detecting means 2 and 3 which are provided nearby both the ends of the plucked parts of the strings 1 and detect the displacement quantities of the strings when the player displaces the strings 1. |
