PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maximize a carry by mutually linking dimples by an air link groove with the width thereof in a specified range, the length thereof below a specified range and the depth blow a specified value to generate a proper lift minimizing drag phenomenon while the characteristic of a golf ball itself is maintained. SOLUTION: An air link groove X is formed to link dimples of a golf ball and in the formation thereof, firstly a line is drawn between adjacent dimples to connect the centers thereof to set a fixed width thereof. The limit of the width is preferably within 70% of the inner circumference of the dimple and the width is preferably 0.1mm or more but 4mm or less. The length of the air link groove X is preferably 5mm or less, because excessively larger length may cause a reduction in the carry. The depth of the air link groove X should be 70% or less of the depth of the dimple or preferably about 1.2mm or less. Increase in the depth, if any further, worsens flying stability. |
