PURPOSE:To efficiently remove a contaminant without damaging the surface of arts, in a marking apparatus for forming a display mark to the surface of a body to be marked using marking ink, by moving the body to be marked through washing vapor to liquefy the washing vapor on the surface of the body to be marked and dissolving an oil component or foreign matter in the formed liquid to drop the same in liquid droplets. CONSTITUTION:Electronic parts 17 are fed in a vapor tank 25 in a state attracted by the magnet 23 of a conveyor 21 so as to direct the mark printed surface thereof downwardly. The vapor tank 25 is filled with washing vapor generated from a washing liquid 24 heated by a heater 24 and said vapor is contacted with the electronic parts 17 to e liquefied on the mark printed surface. Whereupon, an oil component or foreign matter is dissolved in the washing liquid to fall in liquid droplet. Therefore, the oil component or foreign matter is removed from the surface of the electronic parts 17. The electronic parts 17 passes through the vapor tank 25 and is sent into a drying chamber 31 to be dried. As mentioned above, by washing the mark printed surface with washing vapor, a good mark can be printed without applying shock or friction to an object to be marked.
