<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of decreasing the number of source drivers. SOLUTION: This LCD(liquid crystal display device) makes multicolor display by selecting liquid crystal pixels S arranged in a matrix form with row signal lines Y, impressing voltages for assigning intensity levels with column signal lines X and changing the transmittance of the liquid crystals LC in the liquid crystal pixels S. The LCD is so constituted that the voltages for assigning intensity levels are impressed from the same column signal lines on plural pieces of the liquid crystal pixels S existing at the same rows. Since the number of the column signal lines X decreases, the number of the source drivers A which output the voltages for assigning intensity levels may be decreased. If plural pieces of the liquid crystal pixels S are so formed as to be selected by the different row scanning lines, field scanning is made easy.</p> |
