PURPOSE:To provide a method of thawing snow utilizing terrestrial heat, by winding a spiral circulation pipe around a well cylinder, by burying the cylinder with the pipe under the ground, by arranging the water-forwarding part of a circulation pipe on the spot where an object to be thawed is, and by circulating water through the circulation pipe by providing a circulation pump in the pipe. CONSTITUTION:A circulation pipe 5 is buried under the ground together with a well cylinder 2. The spiral part of a circulation pipe 5 is wound around the well cylinder 2 nearly to the lowest end of it. One end of a circulation pipe 5 is connected to the outlet side of a staggering water-forwarding passage which is arranged and assembled in the roof 6 of a building 'A' as an object. The other end of a circulation pipe 5 is connected to the inlet side of a water-forwarding passage 7 via a circulation pump 8. When the snow covering the roof 6 of a building 'A' is to be thawed, a work is started by turning the circulation pump 8 ON. A fluid in the circulation pipe 5, of which heat is exchanged with the heat of the earth, is circulated. it is transmitted to the water-forwarding passage 7 arranged in the roof 6, and again is led to the spiral part of a circulation pipe 5. The snow covering the roof on the water passage 7 is thawed by the circulation fluid, of which heat is exchanged with terrestrial heat, and which is circulated through the water-forwarding passage 7.
