PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dyeing a plastic lens, capable of uniformly and thickly dyeing the plastic lens in a short time by treating the plastic lens in an aqueous solution comprising a dyestuff, water, a surfactant and benzyl alcohol. SOLUTION: This method for dyeing a plastic lens comprises immersing the plastic lens in an aqueous solution comprising a desired dyestuff, 1,000 pts. of water, >=5 pts. of a surfactant such as an alkyl sulfate, and 10-100 pts. of benzyl alcohol at 50-100 deg.C for several min to several ten min. The colorless transparent plastic lens is formed by injecting monomer components such as bis(mercaptomethyl)-3,6,9-trithia-1,11-undecanediol, bis(isocyanatomethyl) norbornene and meta-xylene diisocyanate into a prescribed mold, thermally curing the injected monomers, and subsequently cooling and demolding the cured product. |
