PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sub carrier multiplex optical transmitter capable of obtaining a high distortion compensation effect over a wide frequency band without the need of the fine adjustment of a circuit matching distortion characteristics. SOLUTION: In this transmitter, an optical transmission part is provided with a balun transformer 20 for converting non-balanced sub carrier multiplex signals 10 from an input signal source to balanced sub carrier multiplex signal 40 and 41 and outputting them and laser diodes(LDs) 50 and 51 for intensity-modulating and obtaining signal lights 60 and 61 by the balanced sub carrier multiplex signals 40 and 41, a light reception part is provided with photodiodes(PDs) 80 and 81 for photoelectrically converting the signal lights 60 and 61 and outputting them as the balanced sub carrier multiplex signals 90 and 91 and the balun transformer 100 for converting the balanced sub carrier multiplex signals 90 and 91 to the non-balanced sub carrier multiplex signals 110 and outputting them and the signal lights 60 and 61 are transmitted between the light transmission part and the light reception part by single mode optical fiber 70 and 71. |
