For one-sided tethering of animals, there is provided, next to the support (30) of the feeding-area delimiting means, a slide bracket (40) in the form of a tube which is bent in a hook-shape at the top, is straight at the bottom and is intended for the suspension of an annular tethering member. This slide bracket (40) is suspended in the support (30) by means of a formed-on hook (44) and is held on the floor side in a plug-in opening (65). By means of a pulling element (43, 46, 47) which can be actuated from the top, the locking pin (42) can be raised and the slide bracket (40) can thus be released. A separate eyelet (66) permits individual animals to remain tethered in the event of a central release (61, 62). A better form of posture for cows is thus provided. Shorter bonds or chains can be used for tethering animals, as a result of which an undesired lateral freedom of movement is restricted, but free movement during feeding and lying down is permitted. <IMAGE>
