<p>The piston-type ic engine incorporates a cylinder with piston, together with a compressor, air intake, exhaust, and fuel-supply. It has a fixed combustion chamber (18), to which the fuel supply (19) and an outlet (17) from the compressor (13) are connected. There are two cylinder-piston units connected in series with an outlet from the chamber, the second (12) having a larger swept volume than the first (13), so that the combustion gases from the chamber expand in two stages.</p> |
