The device has meshing, co-rotating or counter-rotating screw shanks (7, 8). The screw shanks are of a modularly variable construction and in principle comprise a core shank and fitted elements. For various processing methods, a cutting action on the material is required. This requirement is met here by cutting elements being arranged in the screw fittings at one or more points on the meshing screw shanks respectively assigned in engagement. The cutting elements comprise threaded elements (1) of the respective type of device and are fitted in the grooves (2) with the opposite or same helical direction as the thread. The following relationships have to be satisfied here: LE = n DIVIDED z.TG TN = 2.n DIVIDED k.TG, LE being the length of a cutting element, TG being the pitch, z being the number of turns of flight of the screw thread and n being integers and k odd integers. <IMAGE> |
