PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce shifting shock generated when the deceleration is relatively large at the time of coast-down deceleration, in a transmission having a one-way clutch. SOLUTION: When a throttle valve 2 is fully opened, and the decelerationΔVSP calculated based on the output shaft revolutions NO detected by an output shaft revolutions sensor 11 is larger than a specified value, the down-shift command speed is changed to the higher speed side than normal. Thus, since an automatic transmission 4 actually starts the automatic shift before it is in a driven state, the worsening of shifting shock caused by gear shifting in the driven state.
