An optical glass containing, as glass components, 30 DIFFERENCE 55 wt % of SiO2, 5 DIFFERENCE 30 wt % of B2O3, the total amount of SiO2 and B2O3 being 56 DIFFERENCE 70 wt % and the SiO2/B2O3 weight ratio being 1.3 DIFFERENCE 12.0, 7 DIFFERENCE 12 wt % of Li2O, in which 7 wt % is excluded, 0 DIFFERENCE 5 wt % of Na2O, 0 DIFFERENCE 5 wt % of K2O, the total amount of Li2O, Na2O and K2O being 7 to 12 wt % in which 7 wt % is excluded, 10 DIFFERENCE 30 wt % of BaO, 0 DIFFERENCE 10 wt % of MgO, 0 DIFFERENCE 20 wt % of CaO, 0 DIFFERENCE 20 wt % of SrO, and 0 DIFFERENCE 20 wt % of ZnO the total amount of BaO, MgO, CaO, SrO and ZnO being 10 DIFFERENCE 30 wt %, and the total amount of SiO2, B2O3, Li2O and BaO being at least 72 wt %.
