PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting structure of brake pedal which can operate a shock absorbing mechanism such as a steering column sufficiently, even in the condition treading a brake pedal. SOLUTION: To a pedal bracket 4 to which the lower end of a steering column 1 is installed through a column holder 3, the upper end of a brake pedal 12 is supported rotatably by a rotary shaft 13, and while a long hole 17 where the rotary shaft 13 is penetrated to the pedal brachet 4 is provided along the longitudinal direction of a car body, the column holder 3 provided to block the long hole 17 by its upper arm piece 6 in the normal condition is installed rotatable, and its lower arm piece 7 is installed to the column 1, and when an forward input force along the axial direction more than a specific strength is applied to the column 1, the column holder 3 is rotated to open the long hole 17, and the upper end of the brake pedal 12 is moved to the rear side of the car body along the long hole 17 by the rotary shaft 13. |
