PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal display device which has excellent polarizing characteristics and excellent durability under high temp. and high humidity conditions and sufficiently shows functions even when various functional layers are laminated, by sticking a polarizing plate to a liquid crystal cell and subjecting the cell to pressurizing treatment in a specified pressure range. SOLUTION: A polarizing plate having a laminated structure such as protective film/polarizing film or protective film/polarizing firm/protective film, etc., is laminated with an adhesive to a liquid crystal cell or to a laminated body of a liquid crystal cell with glass plates on both surfaces. When the polarizing plate is laminated or after laminated, the surface of the polarizing plate is subjected to pressurizing treatment at 2 to 10kg/cm<2> , preferably 3 to 8kg/cm<2> pressure. Namely, after the polarizing plate is adhered to the liquid crystal cell, the surface of the polarizing plate is pressurized at 2 to 10kg/cm<2> pressure to obtain a display device. The cell is preferably subjected to heat treatment at 50 to 120 deg.C. The heat treatment can be performed at the same time of the pressurizing treatment or before or after the pressurizing treatment, and usually, the pressurizing treatment is preferably performed while heating. |
