PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vinyl chloride resin which has a sharp particle size distribution and excellent impact resistance and powder fluidity by conducting suspension polymn. of a polymerizable monomer consisting of vinyl chloride alone or composed mainly of vinyl chloride in the presence of a specified inorg. material in an aq. medium contg. a suspension dispersant. SOLUTION: The polymerizable monomer is suspension-polymerized in the presence of at least one salt of silicic acid, pref. selected from among calcium silicate, wollastonite, talc, clay, mica, montmorillonite, and bentonite, the salt of silicic acid having an average particle diameter of 10 to 50μm and being added in an amt. of 1 to 50 pts.wt. (hereinafter referred to as 'pts.') based on 100 pts. polymerizable monomer, and silica, pref. having an average particle diameter of 5nm to 1μm, in an amt. of 0.01 to 10 pts. based on 100 pts. salt of silicic acid in an aq. medium contg. a suspension dispersant (e.g. partially saponified PVAc). This permits the polymn. of vinyl chloride to stably proceed without deposition of scale on a polymerizer.
