PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a rotation preventing apparatus so that it surely supports the large accelerating force acting on a lock pin, which is in an engagement releasing position, thereby preventing unexpected operation of the rotation preventing device, during the operation of a working apparatus. SOLUTION: In a rotation preventing device for preventing the rotation of a driving shaft of a rotating tool in a working apparatus, a holding element 11 is connected to the driving shaft so as not to make relative rotation. The holding element is provided with at least one locking hole 21 for a lock pin 23, which is borne within a casing 2 of the working apparatus in such a manner that it can slide in the axial direction. An operating element 41, which brings the lock pin 23 from the engagement opposition within the locking hole 21 to the engagement releasing position outside the locking hole 21, is arranged in the vicinity of the lock pin 23. The operating element acts on the lock pin 23 via an operating projection 40. The operating projection 40 is formed with a curved spring 60. One end of this curved spring 64 is fixed to the operating element, while the other end is projected into a reciprocally moving passage of the lock pin 23. |
