<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the quick movement of a cursor and also to ensure the quick pointing input and scroll operations of screens of the medical equipments, OA equipments, etc., by connecting the drive motors to the rotation detectors of each axial direction which detect the rotation of the ball. SOLUTION: An X axis rotation detector 4 and a Y axis rotation detector 5 which is composed of the optical encoders or variable resistors and contained in a case 3 of a track ball 2 are added to a ball 1 that is rotatively contained in the case 3 via a roller, etc., so that both detectors 4 and 5 rotate with interlocking. An X axis drive motor 18 is connected to an X axis rotary shaft 4a via a joint 19 with both motor 18 and shaft 4a set on the same axial center, and a Y axis drive motor 28 is connected to a Y axis rotary shaft 5a via a joint 29 with both motor 28 and shaft 5a set on the same axial center respectively. Then the ball 1 automatically rotates via both motors 18 and 28 when the rotational speed or rotational time of the ball 1 is set at the fixed value.</p> |
