<p>PURPOSE:To form images having high image densities, excellent fine line reproducibility and gradation characteristic by developing these images with a specific magnetic toner. CONSTITUTION:Latent images are formed on a photosensitive body and are developed with the magnetic toner while applying bias to a toner carrying member. This magnetic toner is formed by incorporating 17 to 60 piece % magnetic toner particles having <=5mum grain sizes, 1 to 23 piece % magnetic toner particles having 8 to 12.7mum grain sizes and <=2.0vol.% magnetic toner particles having >=16mum grain sizes into the magnetic toner. The volume average grain size of the magnetic toner is 4 to 9mum and the magnetic toner particles group of <=5mum has the grain size distribution satisfying n/V=-0.04N+k. In the formula, N denotes piece % of the magnetic toner particles having <=5mum grain sizes; v denotes the vol.% of the magnetic toner particles having <=5mum grain sizes, k denotes a positive number from 4.5 to 6.5 and N denotes a positive number form 17 to 60.</p> |
