DEVICE FOR ROTATING IMAGE WITH SMALL MEMORY BY USING JPEG COMPRESSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for buffering a large part or an entire image by using a compressed image block so that the rotation of an entire image can be accomplished and also to reduce the memory and calculation of image rotation. SOLUTION: An image processor 60 includes an image blocking circuit 62 and transfers the data of more than one M×M blocks from an input document to an M×M data buffer 68. Next, the data are undergone a rotation operation by a block rotation circuit that is described as a block 64. Then, the M×M block data are compressed by an image compression processor 66 according to a JPEG standard compression system.
