摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly extract Purkinje's image by extracting Purkinje's image and a pupil edge candidate based on a parameter such as a specified value for luminance during Purkinje's image extortion and the image output of a sensor and detecting the visual axis of an observer based on a positional relationship between a pupil center and Purkinje's image. SOLUTION: For visual axis detection, in an MPU 1, a value by a monitor 14 is read from a specified address of a RAM and setting of minimum accumulation time and minimum gain is performed. Then, moving to accumulation control, instruction is provided to a driving circuit 3 to perform a clear mode operation, then accumulation is started and, after the passage of set accumulating time, light image block (Purkinje's image candidate) extraction and pupil edge candidate extraction are performed. Then, when the foregoing operations are finished for all lines, a pupil center and a pupil radius are obtained by using the selected pupil edge candidate, then eyeball rotational angle or individual difference correction is performed by using the positions of Purkinje's image and the pupil center and a viewpoint position is calculated.
