FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines. SUBSTANCE: internal combustion engine has coaxial and compression cylinders. It has also piston group consisting of rod on ends of which compression and working pistons are fitted, and eyes are made to secure connecting rods by pins. Piston group includes two working and two compression pistons. With fuel ignited in one working cylinder and piston group moving to opposite extreme dead center, air is compressed in opposite working and compression cylinders, and suction takes place in like compression cylinder. Exhaust ports are opened in working cylinder before piston reaches extreme dead center, and exhaust gases are evacuated from cylinder. Under action of pressure drop in cylinder, intake valves are opened in this cylinder and the latter is scavenged by clean air. Two connecting rods operated by one piston group turn two crankshafts in opposite directions. Each connecting rod turns its shaft. Integrated planetary reduction gear is used to sum up different direction torques of two crankshafts. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities, enhanced reliability. 2 dwg
