FIELD: production of fine and ultrafine powders, materials, in particular, separation of powders by grain size; may be used in various fields of engineering, in particular in abrasive industry. SUBSTANCE: method includes preparation of suspension from liquid carrying base and powders, separation of powders from suspension successively from one size of grains to another one through membrane filters with pores corresponding to separated sizes of powder, passing of suspension in flow-through circulating conditions through filter with separation, first, particles of large sizes, and then, successively, small ones. Liquid carrying base prior to preparation of suspension is purified to fineness lower by at least one size class than the produced powder. Suspension is prepared with pH 0.5-13.5. Flow-through filtration is carried out with number Re = 500-250000 at pressure P = 0.01-1.0 MPa and temperature, 10-92 C. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 5 cly
