<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diagnose a weight decrease rate in a nondestructive manner by a method wherein the surface of a substance to be measured is irradiated by monochromatic light sources different in wavelength, reflection absorbance in each wavelength is calculated, a reflection absorbance difference between the wavelengths is computed and, moreover, the relation between the weight decrease rate of the substance stored beforehand and the reflection absorbance difference between the wavelengths is compared. SOLUTION: The monochromatic light of a peak wavelengthλ1 generated from light source LED 3 is cast on a standard white plate through an optical fiber 5 for irradiation. The reflected light therefrom is transmitted to a photodetector 8 through an optical fiber 7 for detection of light, while the quantity I1 of reference light of the peak wavelengthλ1 is stored by a data processing part 9. The quantity 12 of reference light of a peak wavelengthλ2 is stored by the same operation by using light source LED 4. The monochromatic lights from the light source LEDs 3 and 4 being used, subsequently, the surface of a rotor 1 of a rotating machine is irradiated and the respective quantities of the reflected lights thereof are measured. The data processing part 9 determines a reflection absorbance difference between the two wavelengths, executes comparative computation of the actual measurement and the reflection absorbance difference corresponding to a weight decrease rate stored beforehand and determines the weight decrease rate of the rotor 1 of the rotating machine.</p> |
