FIELD: manufacturing of refractory materials, namely, manufacturing of quartz steel-pouring dead end casings. SUBSTANCE: steel-pouring casings are manufactured of high concentrated suspension of quartz sand. Molding is carried out in two stages, initially cylindrical part of the article being formed by centrifugal molding. Then bottom on the base of concrete mixture is molded. Said mixture comprises, %: suspension of quartz sand having density 1.89-1.93 g/cm , 35-40; filler of quartz sand having particles sized 1-10 mm, 60-65. Articles are affected by heat treatment at 1050-1150 C and then allowed to stand within 1-2 h. EFFECT: improved efficiency of the method. 2 cl0
