A fishing lure (10, 100, 200, 300, 400) includes a hook (12, 110, 210, 410) having a hook shank (14) which extends along a hook shank axis (16). A skirt (50, 114, 212, 320, 414, 512) having a plurality of elongate filaments (26, 121, 416) extend along individual filament axes and form a fold (32) around a portion of the hook shank (14). The folded filaments include a neck (34) downstream of the fold (32) and a tubular sleeve (24) receives the neck (34) and directs corresponding filament axes transverse to the hook shank (14) which extends within the fold (32). The skirt includes portions which form an apron (51) that extends outwardly of the tubular sleeve (24). Methods of forming the same are also described. |
