<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar code scanner which is more hardly influenced by a print error than a current scanner. SOLUTION: This scanner 10 acquires features 20s of a bar code representing a series of characters. If adjacent bars and spaces have a defect in the case of print of a bar code, the width of a fractional value of a character having a minimum width is included. An error detector 22a detects the width of this fractional value, and an error correction device 22c makes the width of adjacent bars wider and makes the width of adjacent spaces narrower to adjust the features of the bar code for the purpose of correcting the defective print. Thereafter, features 20s of the corrected bar code are decoded by a decoder 22. An error log 22b where plural scannings are stored is provided to store errors or surely confirm errors. Following scannings can be compared with the log to find coincidence later.</p> |
