PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk rotating drive device capable of preventing a center ring from holding onto a motor rotating shaft at the time of sliding the center ring for the purpose of chucking a disk. SOLUTION: The disk rotating drive device 1 has a motor main body 2 and a chucking mechanism 3 capable of holding the disk D to be in the state of being rotatably driven by the motor main body, and the chucking mechanism 3 is operated for the purpose of chucking the disk by sliding the center ring 32 along the motor rotating shaft 52. A shaft hole 32b of the center ring 32 is equipped with an inner circumferential surface 32c set to surface roughness capable of preventing the center ring from holding onto the rotating shaft 52 at the time of sliding along the rotating shaft. This surface roughness of the inner circumferential surface 32c is set to a value to fall within a range from 1.3μm to 3.0μm at the max. roughness (Rmax). As a result, holding onto the center ring can be prevented, and at the same time, its backlash can also be suppressed to fall within an allowable range.
